You can barely make out our faces but that’s Dave and I at a gig on Tuesday. Good tunes, good fun and good crowd. Couldn’t have asked for more.

I’ve been a fan of Herbie Hancock’s version of River for a while now, so hearing this version sung by a good friend of mine was just an amazing, heartwarming experience. limmy-log is one of the most talented musicians I know, and to have her as a friend is simply an honour and privilege. As musicians, we’re often critical of our weaknesses and insecure of our strengths, but it’s humbling to be surrounded by people who constantly strive to better themselves, not for praise or admiration, but simply with the intention of creating great music.
Love you limmy x
Singing Joni Mitchell’s “River” with one of Nando Michelin’s Fall 2010 small jazz ensembles (based off of Herbie Hancock’s take with Corinne Bailey Rae).

Sparrow and the Wolf - James Vincent Mcmorrow
Been in a folksy mood of late. If you like Ray Lamontagne, Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver-type music, James Vincent Mcmorrow will very much be your cup of tea.
-
Firefly - Gareth Dunlop
Heard this guy on Private Practice, beautiful guitar arrangements and lyrics, kind of reminds me of Ray Lamontagne. Definitely adding this to my Lullaby playlist.

Skinny Love - Birdy
Beautiful cover of Bon Iver’s song. How did I not discover this earlier?

So I’m trying not to mention Sara Bareilles three posts in a row cause by now I probably look like a serial SB fan (which I really am so what’s the point hiding).
Anyway, a Melbourne singer/songwriter Ben Abraham got to sing a duet with her at the concert a couple of days ago. I decided to give him a listen today and discovered that he’s an amazingly talented musician.
If you fall in love with his music, like I have, help yourself to free downloads on his website. Pretty sweet deal huh?

Still having Sara Bareilles fever and absolutely loving this cover of Take On Me.
